About the Marketing & Partnerships Team

Our team raises funds for teachers and students by designing and executing philanthropic partnerships with corporations and foundations including Chevron, DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, SONIC Drive-In, and Staples. (Check out our partnership options and case studies.) This year, we aim to raise $55M for public school classrooms through creative, collaborative partnerships with our institutional donors.

We work closely with our colleagues across the organization to provide exceptional project management, customer service, and reporting to our partners with the goals of maximizing impact for students and teachers, driving meaningful business outcomes for our partners, and growing support for classrooms over time.

Position Overview

As Partnerships Manager, you’ll lead our relationships with multiple corporate and foundation partners, supporting students across the country through high-impact grants:

Partnership management (70% of role)

  • Work directly with corporate partners and team members to plan and manage giving campaigns
  • Deliver excellent customer service and creative solutions for challenges such as partner school visits, employee engagement, social media, and funding logistics
  • Own and maintain partnership records in, continuously updating contact records and logging emails, calls, and meeting notes
  • Analyze and present data and stories to illustrate partners’ impact

Partnership growth (30% of role)

  • Cultivate partner relationships with a commitment to growing your portfolio of partners year over year
  • Generate creative ideas to meet additional business or impact goals for your partners
  • Write and compile compelling emails, proposals, and grants for foundations and corporations

  • You have enjoyed working in a relationship management role with many examples of how you deepened your professional relationships over time.
  • You have strong project management skills and a history of leading projects or campaigns that involved multiple stakeholders and lots of moving pieces.
  • You enjoy making someone’s day. It could be exceeding their expectations on a business commitment. Or it might be something small, like sending them an article you read that made you think of them. You ask great questions and are a close-listener because you care what people think, and you like to learn from them.
  • You’re an inventive problem-solver. You love coming up with solutions to challenges and identifying opportunities to grow and improve.
  • You are a do-er. People always comment on how much work you can get done and how you juggle so many balls at the same time without dropping any. You take pride in managing lots of details and moving parts.
  • You are flexible, and you adapt quickly to changing priorities. You are willing to hustle when necessary and energized by both designing brand new campaigns and executing existing models with excellence.
  • You share our core values of relentlessness, user focus, flexibility, ingenuity, teamwork, and transparency, with a dash of humility and fun.
  • You have a college degree and at least 3 years of work experience. You’ve developed expertise in corporate philanthropy or sponsorship, fundraising, cause marketing, and/or business development.
